A limerick is a silly poem with five lines. Limericks are often funny or nonsensical. Limericks were made famous by Edward Lear, an author who was famous for his literary nonsense. He wrote the “Book of Nonsense” in the 1800s. This was an entire book of silly limericks. So the next time someone says you are “full of nonsense”, don’t be discouraged!
