While the Malaysian government has finally made the big announcement to revert to Bahasa Malaysia for teaching Science and Mathematics in schools, implementation will only begin in 2012. Meanwhile, the major concern is for all existing students to improve their current level of English with the aim of proceeding to further studies at either a local university or abroad.
One of the best ways of improving English is by reading and speaking. Research has shown that learning takes place faster if the content studied is interesting and meaningful. For this reason, Just English Sdn Bhd has sponsored the Just English Magazines (JEM) to be used in designing the MUET (Malaysian University English Test) worksheets.

These worksheets are methodically designed to be effective learning tools, as the Just English content is current, age-related, cross-culturally relevant and not time-consuming. The learning time is reasonable and not exhausting. Just English Magazine provides the ideal length of graded reading articles of two to four pages that can be read in one sitting, thereby maintaining one’s attention span at its peak for learning.
The JPNS workshop held recently was headed by Encik Nasrun. Eighty Form 6 English teachers attended the three-day course (7-10 July 2009) at Hotel Rosa Pasadena in Cameron Highlands. They were introduced to the Just English MUET worksheets and how to implement them in class.

Many thanks go to Ilham Pintar Resources and JPNS for organising this workshop, and Just English Sdn Bhd for providing the JE magazines.
To all the Form 6 teachers who have attended the workshop, we hope you will implement the JE MUET worksheets in class and may you be fruitful in your teaching!
