Just English

A Just English magazine workshop for 16 teachers was held at SMK Methodist, Ipoh on March 28, 2009. It had also coincided with the school's Professional Development Day.

The two-hour workshop exposed teachers to "How to Teach Reading Skills Using Just English Magazines as Supplementary Material". They discovered how to make it interactive by using approaches that will stimulate discussions, thinking and the giving of opinions among students in their reading class.

The teachers could see how magazine materials make lesson topics current and stimulate interest, besides inculcating reading habits. They were also shown online exercises so that they could assign additional activities to their students. Overall, the teachers were happy to see the relevance of the magazine materials in classroom teaching.
